Angelina County Court Docket Searches
Start with the official Angelina County Judicial Web Search. The Odyssey landing page splits its modules. The options are Criminal Case Records, Civil, Family & Probate Case Records, and Court Calendar. Pick the one that fits your record. The jail, jail-bond, and law-enforcement modules hold different records. None of them counts as a court docket.
A cause number is your best search key. A party name or case style can work too, if the module allows it. In September 2026 a login loop hid the portal's exact Odyssey form fields. An Angelina County court docket search should use only the controls that load. When the portal stalls, call the clerk of court for the docket instead.
- Identify the case type and the likely court level.
- Open the county portal and select the matching court module.
- Use the cause number first, then permitted party or style details.
- Read the court, filings, settings, and disposition as separate fields.
- Confirm the newest setting with the coordinator and request official copies from the proper clerk.
Angelina County Odyssey Routes
Each of the three Odyssey routes does a different job. Criminal Case Records covers the district and county criminal path. Civil, Family & Probate Case Records bundles several civil categories. Those categories may sit with different courts or clerks. Court Calendar shows settings, not the full event history of a case. That split matters. A calendar hit does not replace the case register. A case result may not show every filed document.
| Portal choice | Use it for | Verify with |
|---|---|---|
| Criminal Case Records | Felony and county misdemeanor court events | District Clerk or assigned coordinator |
| Civil, Family & Probate | District civil, family, probate, and county civil matters | District Clerk, County Clerk, or assigned court |
| Court Calendar | Dates, settings, and docket calls | Court coordinator or precinct clerk |
A redirect or empty result is not proof the case is gone. The matter may sit in another venue, fall outside the online coverage period, be restricted from public display, or simply not have synced yet. Ask the clerk for the court, cause number, status, and next setting.
Court Dockets: What They Show
Think of an Angelina County court docket as a chronological register. It shows when a petition, indictment, motion, order, plea, or judgment entered the file. It also lists hearings and resets. But the entry is not always the document itself. A motion filed line proves receipt, not approval. A trial setting means the trial was calendared, not that it happened.
| Cause number | The court-assigned identifier used to distinguish the case. |
|---|---|
| Case and parties | The style, category, and public party roles. |
| Filings | Petitions, charging papers, answers, motions, orders, and other events. |
| Settings | Dates for docket calls, hearings, pleas, pretrial matters, or trials. |
| Court | The assigned district, County Court at Law, justice, or municipal venue. |
| Disposition | A judgment, dismissal, sentence, or other recorded end event. |
When the legal effect of an event matters, read the signed order or judgment behind the docket line. A clerk-certified copy carries a different status than a screen view or vendor image.
Angelina County Docket Clerk Split
Angelina County splits its records between two clerks. The District Clerk, Meagan Moore, keeps district pleadings and permanent records, including district civil and felony files. Her office also holds every family case in the County Courts at Law. Visit the counter at 215 East Lufkin Avenue in Lufkin. Hours run Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also call 936-634-4312.
The County Clerk, Amy Fincher, handles county-court administration, recorded documents, probate, mental-health work, and County Courts at Law functions. That office sits at the same address, 215 East Lufkin Avenue, with the same public hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Its main number is 936-634-8339. Confirm the right custodian before mailing a copy request. A shared courthouse does not make the two record systems interchangeable.

Angelina County Courts and Their Dockets
Venue decides where an Angelina County court docket lives. The 159th and 217th Judicial District Courts share felony and district-civil jurisdiction. County Court at Law No. 1 and No. 2 split county misdemeanor and county-civil work. They also take probate, juvenile, and domestic-relations matters within their authority. Four Justice of the Peace courts handle fine-only offenses. They also keep local civil matters. City municipal courts keep their own Class C and ordinance dockets.
| Court | Docket covers | Where to search |
|---|---|---|
| 159th and 217th District Courts | Felony, district civil, and assigned family cases | Odyssey, iDocket, re:SearchTX, District Clerk |
| County Courts at Law 1 and 2 | Misdemeanor, county civil, probate, juvenile, family | Odyssey, iDocket, clerk and coordinators |
| Justice Courts 1 through 4 | Class C, traffic, small claims, debt, eviction, other JP matters | Precinct clerk and county search |
| Municipal courts | City ordinance and Class C citations | Issuing city court |
Federal cases follow a different route through PACER and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Lufkin Division. County Odyssey is not a federal docket system.
Angelina County Family Docket Rotation
Family assignment follows a local rule that explains surprise court names. Family cases filed with the District Clerk on or after September 1, 2006 get numbered and rotated between County Court at Law No. 1 and No. 2. Older pending matters stay in their prior district courts until the pending issues end. The transfer terms of the local order still apply. A judge from any of the four courts may sign an order. Still, the action must go into the minutes of the court where the case is pending. Search by cause number and pending court. Skip the judge's name.
Need calendar help? CCL1 lists court coordinator Lana Toll at 936-639-2204. CCL2 lists family and civil coordinator Kristen Russell at 936-634-8984. For copies, the District Clerk remains the records route for those family files.
Court Dates and Settings in Angelina County
The county portal offers a separate Court Calendar choice. The county publishes no county-wide calendar export and states no update interval, so run your search with whatever live controls the module presents. Then check the cause number, court, date, time, and setting type against the case docket. A notice of setting might cover an arraignment, pretrial matter, motion, docket call, plea, hearing, or trial.
Calling the court directly is the best fallback. The 159th coordinator uses 936-639-3913, and the 217th uses 936-637-0217. CCL1 uses 936-639-2204; CCL2 uses 936-634-8984. Each justice precinct has its own clerk too. The Angelina County court schedule route explains how to confirm moved and missed settings. Trust the newest court notice. A reset changes the date without ending the case.
Angelina County Docket Search Layers
Angelina County splits its docket access across several systems, and none covers everything. The District Clerk points the public to iDocket for digital history. Coverage there starts January 1, 1990 for district felony, civil, and family records. County misdemeanor files reach back to December 31, 1983. County civil files go to November 30, 1996, and probate reaches January 31, 1995. Treat those dates as vendor claims. They are not a promise that every image is open to the public.
For a second look, try the statewide re:SearchTX service. It offers Cases, Filings, Text, and Hearings tabs. Its official guide walks through keyword search and filters for location and category. Advanced search, exports, and saved searches are covered too. You will need to register or use eFileTexas credentials. Think of it as a cross-check rather than a stand-in for the court of record. Confidential matters may be missing or limited by role.
eFileTexas is a different tool for a different job. It moves electronic filings, not public docket viewing. A document can pass through eFileTexas. It may show up as an event in a county register. Only later does it land in a statewide index. So confirm the accepted filing date and the court itself. Upload time does not control.
Docket Access Under Texas Law
Access rules hinge on what a record is and which office holds it. The Texas Public Information Act covers requests for existing government records. Court case files and judicial records are different. They travel their own routes. Angelina County has a printable request form. It routes County and District Clerk court case records to the proper clerk. A general request may never reach a court file.
Texas access framework:
Government Code Chapter 552 covers requests for existing public information and does not require creation of a new record.
Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 provides the access process for judicial records.
Family Code Chapter 58 protects specified juvenile information.
Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A governs expunction handling.
A public docket can leave out sealed, expunged, juvenile, or otherwise sensitive material. Just because a search returns nothing does not mean nothing exists in a restricted file.
Angelina County Docket Copy Costs
Browsing an index and buying an official copy are two different transactions. The County Clerk's 2026 civil fee schedule prices each service by scope. Paper copies run $1 per page. Electronic copies cost $0.10 per page. Certification adds $5. Those figures apply to County Clerk records only. Do not quote them as the District Clerk's current price.
| County Clerk item | Listed amount | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Paper copy | $1 per page | County Clerk schedule |
| Electronic copy | $0.10 per page | County Clerk schedule |
| Certification | $5 | Added clerk certification |
The District Clerk posts no current copy and certification sheet. Call 936-634-4312 before sending any payment. Ask whether the office wants a cause number, a document name, an approximate filing date, payment in advance, or a return envelope. When authenticity matters, request the certified order or judgment.
How the Clerk Keeps Docket Records
The clerk's job is foundational. The office receives and indexes papers, preserves orders, records court events, and issues official copies. Court coordinators do different work. They manage a judge's settings and can answer a live calendar question. Still, they cannot replace the clerk who holds the file. Give either office enough detail to find the matter. Do not ask for research on a broad topic.
A good request names the court, the cause number, the document, and the approximate filing date. Written public-information requests can be mailed, hand-delivered, or sent through the county's approved route where one applies. The open-records page lists District Clerk email addresses, including dcorr@angelinacounty.net and dc217orr@angelinacounty.net, along with subject and attachment rules. The county form still directs court case records to the proper clerk in person. Call first and follow that office's direction.

Angelina County Docket Workload
State FY2025 reports give context, not a way to look up one person's case. Angelina district courts opened the year with 1,403 civil cases pending. They added 608 and disposed of 1,071. The year closed with 930 pending. Justice courts reported 1,346 civil and 3,372 criminal matters ending pending. Each category follows state reporting rules. Combining them says nothing about one court's current backlog.
Need a newer reporting period? The Texas Court Activity Database is the better update path. Aggregate totals explain why a coordinator call can matter. They cannot predict when a specific case will be heard.
Angelina County Docket Terms
Local sources use court docket, court calendar, case records, and judicial records search for related but different things. Knowing the difference keeps you from requesting the wrong item.
- Docket
- The chronological record of filed papers, settings, orders, pleas, judgments, and other case events.
- Calendar
- A schedule of appearances and proceedings, which can change after a reset.
- Filed document
- The petition, motion, order, judgment, exhibit, or charging paper named by an event.
- Reset or continuance
- A change to a setting. It does not mean dismissal.
- Certified copy
- A clerk-issued copy authenticated as an official court record.
Context also shifts what a term means. "Issued" does not always mean served. A motion filed is a request, not a ruling, and "plea entered" may not be the last event. Read the next entry and the signed source document before concluding anything.
City-by-City Court Dockets in Angelina County
For municipal and justice-court matters, the filing location matters more than where a person lives. Lufkin, Hudson, Diboll, and Huntington each document a city court route. Burke is the exception. Its official municipal directory lists no court. The city posts no court page. Confirm with the issuing agency or city administration before paying a fine or filing a records request.
Lufkin Court Records
Separate the Lufkin Municipal Court citation docket from county and federal dockets based in the county seat.
Hudson Court Records
Use the city court, its public docket-call PDFs, and the clerk for current settings.
Diboll Court Records
Check the municipal court's plea, payment, and appearance rules before acting on a citation.
Huntington Court Records
Start with the appearance date and municipal clerk when no broad docket search is offered.
Burke Court Records
Verify the issuing court and precinct because no official Burke municipal portal was confirmed.
City payment vendors handle narrow citation tasks. They are no substitute for the county civil, felony, family, or probate docket.
Angelina County Docket No-Result Checks
A docket search that comes back empty is rarely the last word. Angelina County records may simply live somewhere else. The portal could be redirecting you. A case might sit in a different court, or fall outside a vendor's coverage. It could also hold activity too new to sync. Municipal and JP cases often slip through. That happens when you check only the district and county modules. Restricted access can hide the whole case. Sometimes it hides just a few documents.
Work the problem. Re-run the search using the cause number and confirm the venue. Compare Odyssey against iDocket or re:SearchTX where it makes sense. Then call the clerk or coordinator for the assigned court, and keep the question tight: is the cause there, what is its status, and what is the next setting. For an official outcome, ask for the judgment or dismissal order. An empty result tells you nothing about how the case ended.
