Angelina County Civil Docket Searches
Start with the Angelina County Judicial Web Search. Pick Civil, Family & Probate Case Records from the menu. The portal bundles those labels together, though custody and court assignment can differ in practice. The search screens themselves sit behind a login loop, so use whatever fields the site shows live. A cause number works best. Party or case-style details help when the form offers them.
Strike out there? Go straight to the clerk. The District Clerk holds district civil and family files. For county civil, probate, and guardianship records, call the County Clerk or the assigned County Court at Law. A justice-court claim stays with its precinct clerk.
- Classify the matter by civil case type and court level.
- Select the combined civil module in the county portal.
- Search with the cause number, then allowed party or style details.
- Review the court, filings, service, motions, settings, and result.
- Ask the proper clerk for the signed order, judgment, or certified copy.
Angelina District Civil Court Route
Civil jurisdiction is shared by the 159th and 217th Judicial District Courts. The District Clerk keeps the pleadings, orders, exhibits, writs, and permanent records for both. Visit the counter at 215 East Lufkin Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The main number is 936-634-4312. For calendar questions, call the assigned coordinator. Use 936-639-3913 for the 159th and 936-637-0217 for the 217th. A coordinator can confirm a setting. But the District Clerk supplies the official record. re:SearchTX and iDocket work as cross-checks. Neither replaces the court of record.

Civil Dockets: What They Show
Think of an Angelina County civil docket as an event list. It may show a petition filed. Process issued, an answer arriving, or a motion or order entering the record can appear too. Mediation, hearings, trial settings, resets, a judgment, or an appeal can all appear. Treat these fields as an inventory. They do not describe any exact Odyssey screen.
| Cause number | The court identifier, shown as a civil cause number. |
|---|---|
| Case style | The public caption and party roles. |
| Filings | Petition, answer, service returns, motions, exhibits, and notices. |
| Settings | Hearings, mediation, docket calls, pretrial dates, and trials. |
| Orders | Temporary, procedural, or final rulings entered in the file. |
| Disposition | Judgment, dismissal, nonsuit, or appeal when public. |
"Motion filed" does not mean granted. "Citation issued" does not always mean served. A reset moves a setting and never dismisses the suit, so read the signed source document for the ruling.
Angelina Family Docket Rotation
Family cases are a special search problem here. A local assignment order sends matters filed with the District Clerk on or after September 1, 2006 into a numerical rotation between County Court at Law No. 1 and No. 2. Older cases stay where they are pending. They remain until current issues conclude, subject to the order's transfer terms. A later modification may attach to the existing cause. Never assume the court from the filing year alone. Under the arrangement, any judge from the four district and county-level courts may sign an order. Yet the action still must be entered in the minutes of the pending court. Search by cause number and pending court.
The coordinators can confirm assignments. CCL1 lists family and civil coordinator Lana Toll at 936-639-2204, and CCL2 lists Kristen Russell at 936-634-8984. The District Clerk keeps all family files in the County Courts at Law.
What Cases Fill the Civil Docket
Civil work is split by court level. District courts take district civil filings and share domestic-relations matters. County Courts at Law handle county civil cases. They also handle probate, juvenile hearings, and parts of the family docket. Justice courts hear the smaller civil disputes within statutory limits.
- District contract, tort, and property claims
- Family and domestic-relations matters assigned by local rule
- County civil, probate, and guardianship matters
- Justice-court debt claims, small claims, and repair-and-remedy cases
- Residential and commercial eviction cases in the proper precinct
County JP rules generally describe justice civil jurisdiction of $20,000 or less and repair-and-remedy jurisdiction of $10,000 or less. JP2's page still says $10,000 for justice cases. Because official sources conflict, verify the current limit and route with the precinct.
Angelina Civil Filing Dates
Electronic filers in Angelina County go through eFileTexas. Uploading a document and having it accepted are two different things. Clerk acceptance can control when the paper enters the court record. Keep your electronic receipt, then compare it against the docket event.
eFileTexas handles filing, while re:SearchTX supports record search. Its search guide documents Cases, Filings, Text, and Hearings tabs, location filters, and advanced search. You will need registration or eFileTexas credentials. Confidential files may be omitted or limited by role, so verify results with the assigned clerk.
Accepted date: Keep the submission receipt, but use the clerk-accepted event and court file to verify when a pleading entered the docket.
Hearings on the Civil Docket
A civil setting on the docket can take many forms. It might be a motion hearing or a temporary-order hearing. It could also be a mediation deadline, a pretrial conference, docket call, a bench trial, or a jury trial. Odyssey runs a separate Court Calendar module. The county publishes no county-wide export or update interval. Confirm the newest line with the coordinator.
A scheduling order may set deadlines that never appear on a public daily calendar. A notice can also be reset or continued later. Compare the register with the Angelina County court schedule. Then check the signed scheduling order and the served notice. If a date seems wrong, call the assigned coordinator and counsel. Never infer cancellation from a missing online line.
Angelina County Civil Filing Volume
The FY2025 Texas district report adds local context. Angelina County district courts began the year with 1,403 civil cases pending, added 608, disposed of 1,071, and ended with 930 pending. These are state reporting groups. They reveal nothing about a person, and they cannot predict when a motion will be heard.
“Disposed” and “pending” are just labels for counting purposes. A case marked disposed can still see enforcement or appellate activity after the final event. For a newer period, the Texas Court Activity Database, wait, no link exists here.
The Texas Court Activity Database covers newer periods.
Who Can See Civil Dockets
Much of what lands in an Angelina County civil docket is public. Still, display is not universal. Sealed filings, juvenile information, family data, and sensitive identifiers may be withheld or redacted. A public register can show an event. Its document may still stay unavailable. re:SearchTX also notes that whether confidential results appear can depend on a user's role.
Texas access rules:
Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 supplies an access path for judicial records.
Government Code Chapter 552 governs existing public information but does not require creation of a record.
Family Code Chapter 58 protects specified juvenile information.
The county's printed request form points you to the counter. It says court case records on file with the County or District Clerks should be requested in person. Go to the proper clerk for that. Call before you go. The clerk can walk you through mail, email, and certification instructions.
Angelina Civil Copy Fees
The County Clerk's 2026 civil fee schedule sets $1 per paper page, $0.10 per electronic page, and $5 for certification. Those amounts apply only within that schedule. The District Clerk posts no copy sheet.
| Record route | Published amount | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| County Clerk paper | $1 per page | Confirm page count |
| County Clerk electronic | $0.10 per page | Confirm delivery |
| County Clerk certification | $5 | Name the document |
| District Clerk copy | Current fee not located | Call 936-634-4312 |
Keep any copy request narrow. Name the court, the cause number, the document, and a rough date. Ask the clerk about advance payment and how returns come back by mail. A certified judgment is not the same thing as a portal printout.
Routing matters as much as wording. The County Clerk can tell you whether probate, guardianship, or county civil material belongs there. District pleadings and family court records flow through the District Clerk. A phone call sorts out routing and cost estimates. The clerk's copy is the one worth keeping. Before you mail anything, confirm the payee, the total, and the delivery method. Ask whether to include a self-addressed envelope.
A public-information officer will not build a new report or untangle a broad legal question. Point to an existing filing or order instead. That habit keeps an Angelina County civil docket request anchored. It should point to a record the clerk can actually locate and reproduce.
